Elizabeth Dougherty Boyle September 06, 1928 – January 25, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Our beloved matriarch, Elizabeth Dougherty Boyle, 90, passed away on Friday, January 25th. Born and raised in Bayonne, she lived there, Jersey City and a longtime resident of Avon by the Sea. After graduating Business College she began her career with American Express in New York City, Jersey City Medical Center, and the City of Jersey City, Department of Health and Welfare.

Throughout her lifetime she was a member of many religious and civic organizations in Hudson and Monmouth Counties. She was predeceased by her husband, David Boyle, her parents, William and Elizabeth (Feeney), her sister Mildred and her brother William. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Marybeth McGovern (Frank), Candice Gall (Jim), and her son, David Boyle (Tonya).

She is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Sean, Bryan, David, Olivia and Jamie. Her cherished greats, Annabella, Willow, Kylie, Mickey, Shea and Patrick. Her sister, Genevieve Dougherty Markowski along with her extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 29 at 11:00AM at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary R.C. Church, 424 Lincoln Ave. Avon NJ. Visitation will be at 10:00AM at the church.

Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum, Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt. In her memory, donations to the Avon First Aid Squad, PO Box, 4, Avon NJ, 07717 would be greatly appreciated. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
