Elizabeth’s Obituary Marion, VA Elizabeth Faye Mauney, age 82 passed away Friday May 17, 2019 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. Faye was born in Marion, VA and was preceded in death by her mother Lydia Taylor, her husband Hugh Mauney and her infant brother Robert Lynn Taylor. She graduated from Marion College and worked as an education secretary and purchasing agent at the Blue Ridge Job Corps for over 43 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Faye enjoyed traveling, one of the highlights of her travels was visiting Israel. She was an avid reader and bird watcher.

Survivors include her children Michael A. White of Abingdon, VA, Linda W. Burchette and husband Steve of Marion, VA, Gregory S. White and wife Stephanie of Floyd, VA; grandchildren Cassie, Christian, Josh, Nicholas, Isiah. Faye is also survived by numerous cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 3rd floor nursing staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and to her oncology team at Smyth County Community Hospital for the care given during this time.

Funeral services will be held at 7PM Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Reverend Jonathon Hammond and Reverend Jim Bangle officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM prior to services. Interment will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday at 2PM.

Flowers will be appreciated, or memorial contributions can be made to the Ebenezer Lutheran Church or the Micha’s Back Pack Program. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www. bradleysfh.com.
