Emile’s Obituary Haverhill: Emile A. Morin, 90, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, and son of the late Auguste J. and Mathilde (Arsenault) Morin, he attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and graduated in 1948 from the Marist Preparatory Seminary in Bedford. Following graduation, Mr. Morin enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1951 when he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

He later attended Northeastern University and was employed as a draftsman for 38 years by Western Electric and AT&T, retiring in 1990. A member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, Mr. Morin was a member of the Holy Name Society and the parish choir. He also volunteered as a CCD teacher and at the All Saints Food Pantry, and was a former officer and coach of Saint Joseph Little League.

Mr. Morin had a passion for genealogy and was a member of the American Canadian Genealogical Society and L’Association des Morins d’Amerique, P.Q, Canada. He completed genealogical records for four branches of the Morin and Poulin families of Haverhill. A man of unwavering faith, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who was also a talented artist; he completed portraits of all of his grandchildren.

He also enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings and had many happy memories of spending time with his wife and family at his summer home on Granny Kent Pond in Shapleigh, ME. An avid New England sports fan, he also enjoyed travel, photography, completing crossword puzzles, and computer work in his home office. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Cecile (Poulin) Morin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Robert DeSpirito of Atkinson, NH, Phyllis and Kenneth McTighe of Haverhill, and Marie and Ronald Barton of Haverhill; six grandchildren, Laura Motta of New York, NY, Stefanie Motta and her husband Wesley Nugteren of Minneapolis, MN, Gregory DeSpirito of Atkinson, NH, Lindsey (DeSpirito) Fava and her husband Matthew of Suffield, CT, and Lisa Barton and Christine Barton of Haverhill; step-grandchildren Christopher McTighe of Haverhill and Kelly McTighe of Townsend; and great grandchildren, Wesley McTighe and Thomas Preziosi IV; brother William J. Morin of Exeter, NH, sisters, Marguerite Nordengren of Bradford, Claire Moll and her husband Paul of Haverhill, Marie E. Deluca and her husband Richard of Plaistow, and Jeanne Comiskey of Haverhill.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Annette Schloth of Atkinson, NH, and her children, Linda Little and her husband Douglas of Atkinson, NH; William Schloth Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Hampstead, NH; David Schloth of Merrimac; Steven Schloth and his wife Patricia of Haverhill; Karen Schloth of Atkinson, NH, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Louise Morin and Theresa Boucher and her husband Conrad; brothers Paul Morin and John J. Morin and his wife Evelyn; brothers-in-law Edward Nordengren and Peter Comiskey; and sister-in-law Carol Morin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Morin’s Calling Hours and Life Celebration to be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main ST.

, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
