Obituary for Ernest Snyder Ernest Snyder, age 95, of Unicoi, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his home. Ernest is a native of Butler and a son of the late John and Daisy (Pierce) Snyder. He is a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Trustee and Treasurer.

Ernest was an Accounting Clerk with the railroad until he retired. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of Centennial Lodge # 491 in Erwin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed woodworking, gardening and cooking and was very devoted to his family, country and God.

In addition to his parents, Ernest is preceded in death by ten siblings and three grandchildren. Ernest Snyder has left behind to cherish his memory: Wife: Doris Snyder, of Unicoi; Sons: Ronnie Snyder and wife, Janie, of Unicoi, Terry Snyder and wife, Laura, of Marietta, GA; Daughter: Delores Chaffin, of Johnson City; Grandchildren: Lisa, Debbie, Vickie, Angela, Clinton and Sarah; Several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all of those who showed their care and support during his time of illness.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Ernest Snyder in a funeral service to begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Erwin. Dr. Ray Sorrells will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time on Friday.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Those attending will meet at Roselawn Memory Gardens by 10:50 AM for the service. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church, 200 Love Street, Erwin, TN 37650 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family and viewed at www.
