Ethel Aletha Kirchdoerfer, 92, of Orefield, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, November 15th at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall following a lengthy illness. Born in Tomhicken, December 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Pauline (McHenry) Shultz and had spent most of her life in Sugarloaf before moving to Orefield to be with her daughter and son-in-law. Ethel was a 1943 graduate of West Hazleton High School.

She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for the White Haven State School, and also as a part time waitress at Sunny Knoll. She was a member of Christ Church UCC, Conyngham where she was very involved with church activities. She also was very active with the Girl Scouts of America.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her loving husband Leland Kirchdoerfer, who passed away September 9, 1973; Aunts, Geraldine Fink and Thelma Stemkowski and Uncle, Leroy McHenry. Surviving are a daughter Karen Kirchdoerfer and her husband David Baechle, Orefield. Her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place privately in Conyngham Union Cemetery. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to honor Ethel should make a donation to Christ UCC Church, 460 Main Street, PO Box 187, Conyngham, PA 18219.
