Ethel M. Richards Minich, 86, of Emlenton, went to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, September 21, 2018 at the Caring Place in Franklin following a brief illness. Ethel was born in Sharon on October 17, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Luton and Ethel Basford Hyde.

She was 1948 graduate of Greenville High School. In her earlier years, Ethel had been employed by Cranberry Twp. in Venango County and later with her husband, Bill, at Ferree Chevrolet in Emlenton.

She was an active member of the St. Petersburg United Methodist Church where she served as the financial secretary and enjoyed helping with the monthly spaghetti dinners. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Oil City. Ethel was an avid reader and enjoyed watching game shows and Pitt basketball.

Ethel was married to Milo “Bill” Minich on January 21, 1984. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2002. Surviving are two children, Penny I. Henry and her husband, Dan, of Harrisburg and Douglas K. Richards of Franklin; three grandchildren, Kimberly Henry and her husband, Armand, of Lancaster, Melissa Henry of Harrisburg, and Zachary D. Henry of Pittsburgh; a sister, Jean Alexander and her husband, Elton, of Hadley, as well as a number of step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Richards, three sisters, Mary McDowell, Margaret Scrivens, and Joan Young, and five brothers, John, James, George, Robert, and William Hyde. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ethel’s special friend and caregivers, Tracy Clawson and Dr. Joneja. Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave.

, Emlenton, from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Gene Lenk, her church pastor and the Rev.

Dan Myers, former church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Petersburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 281, St. Petersburg, PA 16054 or the Venango VNA Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd.
