Obituary for Eugene Salwa Eugene Salwa, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 21, 2018, with his loving family at his side. Born in Tumlin, Poland on July 20, 1931, son of the late Jozef and Rozalia (Grzbowska) Salwa, he has resided in Chicopee for the past fifty-two years. Eugene was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr.

He was an accomplished tailor, and retired after many years of service from A.O. White Clothiers, and previously Balakiers Department Store. Eugene was a devoted dziadziu, enjoying every moment he could with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always looked forward to family trips to the seashore, and enjoyed collecting vinyl records.

Eugene was predeceased in 2013 by his beloved wife, Zofia (Zak) Salwa, and is survived by his loving children, Danuta Z. Starsiak and husband Louis, of West Springfield, Ann Twarowski and husband Walter, of Brimfield, and Michael E. Salwa and wife Susan, of Ellington, CT; seven cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Patnaude and husband Michael, Ashley Starsiak and husband Jake Murphy, Diane Twarowski and Ernie Westcott , Mark Twarowski, Nicholas Salwa, Samantha Salwa, and Alexandra Salwa; and cherished great-grandchildren, Aniela, Braxton, and Clara. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kazimierz, Stanislaw, and Jan. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7PM. Upcoming Events Visitation DEC 27.
