Eula Phillips Corbett, 87, of Ayden, passed away peacefully at Vidant Palliative Care on Saturday August 25, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 27, 1931 in Wilson Co., NC to James and Lossie Price Phillips. Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Corbett Sr.; both parents and one son-in-law, Lawrence “Bud” Suggs.

Eula retired from E.I. DuPont after 25+ years of service. After retirement she enjoyed daily walks, and visiting the local nursing homes and shut-ins. Her love of animals fostered her to take in a stray from time to time, where she could shower it with the love that was in her heart.

In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, but her most precious memories were of the times spent with family. Eula was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenville, for over 40 years. She loved her church family and her Lord and made Him a priority in her life, above all else.

Her faith blessed her in many ways. She is survived by her only son, Cecil Corbett Jr. and wife, Marie Bunting, three daughters, Janet Suggs, Ann Garris and husband, B.T., Kim Braxton and husband, Ricky; two brothers, Ed Phillips and wife, Janice, and R.P. Phillips and one sister, Mary Alice Wells and husband Talmadge. Also left to cherish her memory are eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at Farmer Funeral Service-Chapel at 2:00pm. Interment will follow in the Ayden Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at the funeral home from 7-9 and all other times at the home of her daughter, 6250 Reedy Branch Rd, Winterville, NC .
