Grifton – Sandra Kaye Gray, 71, of Grifton passed away peacefully at Vidant Palliative Care on Friday August 31, 2018 with family at her side. She was born on October 25, 1946 in Lenoir Co., NC to Fred and Grace Moody. Sandra was preceded in death by both parents.

Sandra retired from Branch Bank & Trust after 30 years of service in the Kinston, NC market. After her retirement she continued to work in Pitt County in various positions. Sandra enjoyed being with her family and surrounded by them.

Sandra was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended congregations in both Kinston and Greenville, NC. She served in her congregations in many different roles from being a teacher to leading the young women’s group. She is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, Jasper F. Gray, two sons, Jerome Gray and wife, Jennifer, Mark Gray and wife Carla, one daughter Marjorie Sutton and sister Rhonda Barrow and husband Bobby.

Also left to remember her are 6 grandchildren, Joshua Gray, Austin Sutton, Andrew Sutton, Zachary Gray, Trevor Gray, and Alayna Gray, and her nephew Kenny Barrow and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2nd at Farmer Funeral Service from 6:00 -8:00 pm and all other times at the family home at 6259 Brassie Drive, Grifton, NC. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 3rd, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 307 Martinsborough Road Greenville, NC at 11:00 am.
