Evelyn Simmons Parsons, 89, of Parkersburg passed away March 15, 2019 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born on July 7, 1929 in Parkersburg and was the daughter of late Rama and Opal Anderson Simmons. Evelyn loved animals and gardening.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making food, especially pies, and spending time with her family. Surviving Evelyn is her daughter, Cheryl Carr of Vienna, son, Michael Parsons of Parkersburg, three grand-daughters, Megan Carr Betts (David) of Vienna, Kate Pence of Asheville, NC and Lisa Parsons of Huntington, WV, one grandson, Patrick Parsons of Kearneysville, WV and one great-grand-daughter, Serenity Betts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon Parsons.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, March 20,2019 at Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg with Associate Pastor Eric Leeson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-6 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
