Forest “Bud” Kidd, 85, of Liberty, Indiana passed away early Sunday morning, May 20, 2018, at Caroleton Manor. One of five children of Forest and Gladys Culley Kidd, Forest was born on the farm in Alquina on July 18, 1932, and was a proud graduate of Alquina High School with the class of 1951. Forest served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, receiving his honorable discharge in 1955.

On September 8, 1951, he was married in Everton United Methodist Church to the former Charlotte S. Applegeet, and they raised five children, Danny, Richard, Donna, Doug, and Dianne. Mrs. Kidd passed away on May 4, 2012. Along with his family, Forest farmed in the Alquina area all of his life.

He also was employed at Philco-Ford and later at National Metals. Following his retirement, Forest worked for the Connersville News-Examiner. Forest was a member of Alquina United Methodist Church and the Indiana Farm Bureau.

He was a 4-H leader for many years and enjoyed helping with family 4-H projects and attending the Fayette County Free Fair. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter of deer, turkey, and squirrel and was an avid tractor puller. Survivors include five children, Danny Kidd and wife, Paula, Richard Kidd and wife, Debra, and Donna Garrett, all of Connersville, Doug Kidd and wife, Kathy, both of Rushville, Indiana, and Dianne Dudley and husband, David of West College Corner, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren, Randy Kidd, Larry Garrett, Mike Kidd, Nathan Garrett, Eric Kidd, Sarah Rudicil, Julia Hornsby, Emily Kidd, Many Wolf, Kyle Dudley, Curt Dudley, Christa Shaw, Greg Shaw, Jeff Moore, and Keith Moore; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandson; two sisters, Bernice Hobbs and husband Charles and Norma Corder, both of Connersville; a brother, Willis Kidd, of Connersville; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Kidd, Forest, he is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. A special friend, Jeff Adams will officiate.

Burial with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Free Fair.
