Melvin E. Dice, 81, of Connersville passed away late Saturday evening, June 16, 2018, at Heritage House of Connersville. One of two children of Russel E. and Iva A. Hadler Dice, Melvin was born in Connersville on March 4, 1937. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1954.

Melvin served his country in the United States Army where he received his training in finance procedures. Following his service in the Army, Melvin was employed as a loan officer and earned the position of department head for Fayette Bank & Trust Company and its successors for 43 years, retiring in 1997. On September 2, 1967, Melvin married the former Sue A. Salyer in Connersville.

Mrs. Dice passed away on March 4, 2010. Melvin was a faithful member of Eastside United Methodist Church and his involvement in his community through numerous clubs, boards and activities will leave a lasting impression on his hometown of Connersville and the Fayette County community. Survivors include three children, Mark Dice of Savannah, Georgia, Christine (Paul) Corgill of Birmingham, Alabama, and Steven Dice, of Connersville; three grandchildren, Christian Corgill, Josie Corgill, and Carrie Corgill.

Besides his wife of 42 years, Sue Dice, Melvin is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Phillips. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Reverend Malcolm Greene will officiate with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council.

Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sue & Melvin Dice Visual Performing Arts, Lady Bug and Endowment to Support Women and Children, Whitewater Valley Art Association, or Eastside United Methodist Church.
