Grace Julian Gabbard, 86, of Connersville, Indiana went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, July 16, 2018, at Fayette Regional Hospital. One of eight children of John Clarence Davis and Effie Jane Issacs, Grace was born on December 10, 1931, in Jackson County, Kentucky. On October 8, 1952, Grace was married to Luther Gabbard in Macedonia Ridge, Kentucky.

At age 23, she and her family moved to Connersville. Grace was employed at Walgreens, the Cafeteria at Fayette Memorial Hospital, and retired from Visteon and its predecessors. Soon after her retirement, Grace became a CNA and worked at Fayette Regional Health System.

Grace’s favorite hobby, besides spending time with what her family, was baking and decorating cakes. She also enjoyed gardening. Besides her husband of 65 years, Luther Gabbard, survivors include two daughters, Johnnie (William) Scott and Bobbi (Sidney) Curtsinger, all of Connersville; three granddaughters, Crystal (William) Knippenberg of Laurel, Indiana, Naskietta Curtsinger, and Mystic Curtsinger, all of Connersville; two great-grandchildren, Kendra Ladd and Elijah Knippenburg, both of Laurel; four brothers, Jack (Betty) Davis of Bean Station, Tennessee, Charles (Twila) Davis and Ben Davis, both of Connersville; Bill (Cindy) Davis of Indianapolis.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dennis Ray Davis and Herbert Clarence Davis; and one sister, Pearl Irene Davis. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Mal Gibson will officiate.

Burial will follow in Everton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
