Clyde R. Bower, 91, of Connersville, Indiana, formerly of Eaton, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Caroleton Manor. One of twelve children of Wilson Lawrence and Edith May Bower, Clyde was born on January 10, 1927, in Dubois, Pennsylvania at Maple Avenue Hospital. He was baptized a Moorhead Methodist Church in Brockway, Pennsylvania and graduated from Brockway High School in 1944.

Clyde served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea, receiving his honorable discharge in 1951. He retired from IBM after 30 years of service. On June 18, 1974, Clyde married the former Mary Jane Krepp.

Mrs. Bower preceded him in death. Along with his wife, Clyde attended Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton, Ohio and was a member of American Legion Post 215 and the SPEBSQSA (Barbershop Harmony Society) since 1962. Clyde enjoyed attending Naval reunions throughout the United States and enjoyed singing Barbershop Harmony.

Survivors include his son, Clyde Bower, II of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Jane; daughter, Edith May; five brothers; and six sisters. A graveside memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Dustin Boehm at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 5, 2018, with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council at Dale Cemetery.
