Harry Booher, 91, of Connersville passed away early Friday morning, June 8, 2018, at Heritage House of Connersville. One of four children of Arthur and Bessie Lee Humphrey Booher, Harry was born in Paris, Kentucky on February 1, 1927, and they came to Connersville when Harry was a young boy. Not long after moving to Connersville, Harry’s mother passed away.

With little income due to the Great Depression, Harry took on employment at Rex Manufacturing. When he was 12 years old, Harry moved away from home and resided at the McFarland Hotel. At age 16, Harry enlisted in the United States Navy and served during World War II.

While on leave from the Navy, Harry married the former Leona Hisle on August 22, 1944. Together, they co-owned and operated Booher’s Dry Cleaning for many years and later operated Booher Realty Company. Mrs. Booher passed away on October 10, 2015.

Harry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, youth pastor and teacher for the Young Married Sunday school class. An active member of the community, he held a membership in the Chamber of Commerce and was a charter member of the National Exchange Club. Survivors include five children, Sharon (Jim) Stout and Diane (Eddie) Howell all of Connersville, Dick (Linda) Booher of Rineyville, Kentucky, Debbie Johnson (James) Tsoodle of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Danny (Tammy) Booher, of Losantville, Indiana; a brother, Jerry Arbuckle of Lanesville, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Connie Booher of Ft.

Pierce, Florida; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Harry is preceded in death by a son, Reverend Terry Lee Booher, who died in 2006; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hauri; a son-in-law, DeWayne Johnson; three brothers, Irvin “Snookie” Booher, Jack Booher, and Danny Arbuckle; and a sister, Dorothy Sturgis who passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.

Pastor John Reynolds and Reverend Kim McHale will officiate. Burial with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council will follow in Dale Cemetery. Online condolences can be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
