Obituary for Frances L. Corey (Tovino) LOUDONVILLE – Frances L. Tovino Corey, 95, formerly of Watervliet, died Thursday evening, February 22, 2018 at Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush with her family at her side. Born in Watervliet on March 25, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria Capone Tovino. Frances was a graduate of Watervliet High School and resided on 7th Avenue in Watervliet before moving to Loudonville in 1976.

She was employed at the former Jupiter Silk Mill inWatervliet, Crossroads Restaurant in Latham and by Carins Brokerage in Latham where she was a secretary before retiring. She was a faithful communicant of the former St. Francis DeSales Church in Colonie and St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Her family and her faith were her life.

She was the wife of the late Edward T. Corey who died in 1989; beloved mother of Frank A. (Geraldine) Leffler of Grand Isle, VT, Mary F. Growick of Newtonville, Edward T. (Cindy) Corey, Jr. of Loudonville, Ronald E. Corey of Florida and the late Jean M. (husband Hank survives) Reiser; grandmother of Stephen, Brian and Michael Leffler, Michelle Plew, Denise Olszowy, William and Lewis Growick, David and Matthew Merwitz, Tara Englert, Danielle (Chris) Carey, Ronny Corey and the late Kimberly Merwitz and Tammy Woodford. She was predeceased by her brother, Dominick Tovino. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Commons for the loving and tender care given to our mother. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet and at 9:30 am at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Entombment will follow in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205.
