Frances (Merida) Thimling, age 77, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Signature Healthcare of Newburgh. Frances was born December 22, 1941, in Barbourville, KY, to Anthony and Nancy (Bargo) Merida. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran.

Frances enjoyed yard work and her flowers. She loved talking and telling jokes to anyone and everyone. Frances especially loved spending time with her family and friends, and she always had time for a frozen margarita.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Kim Keeler (Mike); son, Mark Thimling (Christina); grandchildren, Cheyenne Hirschelman and Cierra Hirschelman; and brother, Shelby Merida (Reva). Frances is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 36 years, George W. Thimling; and siblings, Mahalie, Cora, General Lee, Grace, Kitty, Jessie James, Junior Anthony, Chester Dee, Floyd, Cleo, Agnes, Carrie, and Ray. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Dr. Arthur Christmas officiating.

Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery on Volkman Road. Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society at 5250 Vogel Road, Main Level, Evansville, IN 47715.
