Mr. Lenard G. Kitchens, age 89 of Franklin, KY passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 10:55 AM at The Medical Center Franklin in Franklin, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where cremation was honored per Lenard’s wishes. There will be private services held at a later date.

Lenard was born September 21, 1929 in Franklin, KY to the late Lenard Kitchens and Ollie Clark Kitchens of Simpson Co. KY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kitchens and 3 brothers, James Kitchens, Herman Kitchens, and Robbie Kitchens. He is survived by his son David Kitchens of Franklin, KY, 2 grandchildren Staci James (Don) of Louisville, KY, Kevin Kitchens of Atlanta, GA, 2 great grandchildren Will James and Katherine James, and 1 niece Betty Crafton (J.P.) of Portland, TN.

Lenard retired from Insurance sales after 20 years with the Life Insurance Company of Georgia, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Online condolences may be made at www. gilbertfhonline.com.
