Mr. Murion Donnie Cooper, age 64 of Franklin, KY, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 10:13 PM at the Medical Center in Franklin, KY Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 with burial to follow in Greeenlawn Cemetery of Franklin, KY. Mr. Cooper was born May 31, 1954 in Grove Oak, AL to the late Murion Manases Cooper and Mary Frances Greathouse Cooper of Anniston, AL. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Frances Short.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita Lu Chaney Cooper of Franklin, KY, children Donnie Cooper (Dawn) of Mount Prospect, IL, David Cooper (Ewa) of Streamwood, IL, Melissa Vanzandt of Guntersville, AL, Angela Martin (Bret) of Holly Pond, AL, Brandon Dover (Kristina) of Franklin, KY, Neely Painter (Jarrett) of Telford, TN, and Mark Higgason of Beth Page, TN, 3 siblings, Melvin Tolbert (Brenda) of Jemison, AL, Betty Phillips (Chuck) of Joppa, AL, Bonnie Moore (Walter) of Blountsville, AL, 21 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cooper loved and adored his family, was a jack of all trades, enjoyed buying and selling things, and he also made chicken feeders and waterers. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Gilbert Funeral Home.
