Ruby Ona (Qualls) Barron, 99, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown Campus. Ruby was born March 23, 1920 in Evansville to the late Charles L. and Hattie (Crowley) Qualls. She, along with her husband Jim, owned and operated Broadway Market and Barron’s Finer Foods on Evansville’s west side for many years.

Ruby was a member of Westwood Church for many years and attended Forest Hills Wesleyan Church in her later years. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and spent many hours in prayer. Surviving Ruby are her children, Sondra Bartley of Quincy, IL, James T. “Tom” (Karen) Barron and Mary Ann (John) Wilsman, both of Evansville and Paul (Kathy) Barron of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Shay Drummond, Shannon Bass, Sam (Maria) Bartley, Stuart (Robin) Bartley, Shane (Candy) Bartley, Susan (Bruce) Hoffman, Tom (Sheri) Barron, Stephanie Barron, Adam (Jenna) Barron, Ryan Rupp, Jill (Greg) Snyder, Ashley (Deric) Shake, Jessica (Corey) Rosek, Kelly Leadbetter and Tony Alexander; twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James T. Barron, Sr. in 2002; by a brother, Charles Qualls and by two sisters, Dottie Hopple and Anna Lee Carlisle. Funeral services for Ruby will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, Pastor Ray Austin and Pastor Mike Stoelting officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
