Kenneth Darrell “Kenny” Hutton, age 71, of Boonville, IN, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at home. Kenny was born October 19, 1947, in Bedford, IN, to James R. and Beverene L. (Chastain) Hutton. He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School.

Kenny was a Veteran in the United States Army, having served in the Infantry First Air Cavalry from 1967-1970 in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post 1114, and he retired from Alcoa after 35 years of service, working in many of the departments. Kenny was an avid horseman who earned his Horse Trainer’s License from the Kentucky Riding Commission, and he “ponied” at many race tracks.

His love for horses took him to many interesting places, eventually retiring in Boonville, IN, with the joy of caring for 6 horses, dogs, rabbits, and several cats. Kenny was a very special man and a great friend. Kenny is survived by his brother Dennis Hutton (Linda) of Evansville; nephew, Chris Hutton (Lisa); 4 grand nephews; extended family, Gregory and Elizabeth Haas; grandchildren, Aimee McBride, Julia Crossley, Sarah Wongler, Lucas Haas, Eva Sherfick, Theresa Haas, Rebekah Haas; 14 great grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Beverene Hutton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 625 Frame Road, Newburgh with Father John Pfister and Father Joe Ziliak officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Evansville where full military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Kapperman Post 44.

Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Vets Honoring Vets at 1721 Ewing Avenue, Evansville, Indiana 47712 or Wounded Warriors at PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
