Obituary for Frances Odell Lawson Frances Owens Lawson, 86, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Frances was a lifelong dedicated member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, having held several positions through the years. She was a member of the Hawkins County Crewettes for over 50 years.

She loved being involved in this and helping her community. In her younger years, she also enjoyed fishing, quilting, and bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reid; her parents, Paul and Lula Belle Owens; a brother, Bill Owens; daughter-in-law, Wanda.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita (Bill) Legg; two sons, Gerald (Connie) Lawson of Rogersville and David (Sherri) Lawson of Ridgeville, SC; three granddaughters, Aimee of Jefferson City, Shaleena of Lillington, NC, and Amanda of College Station, TX; four grandsons, David and Reid of Ridgeville, SC, and Billy and Conner of Rogersville. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Nell Owens; two brothers-in-law, Pleas (Edith) Lawson and Frank Lawson; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Kim Lawson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hawkins County Crewettes or to the Gideon’s for bibles.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Roy Courtney and Rev.

Ray Mullins officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at Highland Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.
