Obituary for Sondra Elaine Jones Sondra Elaine Elkins Jones went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Survivors include her daughter, Penny Elmore (Eddie); granddaughter, Caitlin Brabham (Tyler); sisters, Joyce Trent and Sherry Terry (Eddie); brother, Waylon “Sonny” Elkins (Janey); a very dear friend, Gordon Wheeler; special lifelong friends, Marilyn Winstead and Marilyn Cockreham; and several nieces and nephews. Sondra was preceded in death by her son, Travis Shane Jones; daughter, Shannon Jones; parents, Waylon and Mildred Elkins; and brother, Wendall Elkins.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville, on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with funeral services commencing at 12:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Carpenter-Elkins Cemetery on Clouds Creek Road, Rogersville. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Signature Healthcare of Rogersville and Amedisys Hospice for the constant care and compassion shown to Sondra and her family and dear friends during her final months. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to no-kill animal shelter, A Voice for Dogs, c/o Paula Winfrey, 289 Lewis Rd.
