Obituary for Francis D. “Frank” Hemler Francis D. “Frank” Hemler, 76, of Cleona died Monday, June 18, 2018 in his residence after a long and courageous two and half year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Nancy K. Foust Hemler to who he was married 56 years. Born in Hanover on June 23, 1941, he was the son of the late John C. and Frances Topper Hemler.

He was the longest employee of Lebanon County serving as communications technician for the Emergency Management Agency for 47 years. His greatest accomplishment was being instrumental in the Hook-Up between the GSH, HMC, and EMA. Frank was a 1959 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and 1962 from DeVry Electronics Institute in Chicago.

He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, Annville, the Friendship, S. Lebanon, and Cleona Fire Companies, Lebanon County and State Fireman’s Association, and the Train Collectors of America. He was an amateur radio enthusiast who fixed radios for many years, and who enjoyed history, traveling (especially to Williamsburg) and going on cruises (a total of 12). Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, David A. Hemler of Uppsala, Sweden, Thomas A. Hemler husband of Carrie Hemler of West Hampton, NJ, a brother Richard husband of Kathleen Hemler of McSherrystown, a sister Dorothy wife of Phillip Monteith of Hanover, six grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday July 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 125 S. Spruce Street, Annville, PA 17003. Inurnment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lebanon. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Church.
