Anderson, Gary of Shrewsbury (72) went home to heaven on Friday, May 24, 2019. Son of the late George and Vyola Anderson, grandson of four Swedish immigrants, Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary “Beth” (nee Ransdell) Anderson, his sister Laurie (nee Anderson) Furgerson (Wayne Wilcoxen), sister-in-law Ruth (nee Ransdell) Williams (Richard Wommack), sister-in-law Jean Ransdell, brother-in-law Keith Ransdell (Angy), nephews Matthew Furgerson (Sarah), Adam Ransdell, & Ian Ransdell, niece Allison (nee Williams) Burke (Davey), and three grandnieces, Claire Furgerson, Norah Furgerson, and Emy Burke, many cousins, and friends. A life-long resident of St. Louis, Gary graduated from Cleveland High School and the University of Missouri – Columbia.

After graduation he returned to St. Louis to work for Laclede Gas Co. for 34 years in data processing (IT). He enjoyed traveling, taking beautiful photographs and collecting rocks from all 50 states of the USA and many Canadian provinces. Gary was an active and devoted member of Webster United Methodist on Bompart Avenue where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, as a Trustee, and on the Mission and Finance Committees.

Gary believed in education and started college funds for children in the next two generations of his family. He was optimistic, an inspiration, a problem-solver, a negotiator, and a friend to all. He will be remembered as a great husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, co-worker, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be 4-8 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Webster United Methodist, 600 N. Bompart Ave, Webster Groves, Missouri 63119. Funeral will be 10 am, Friday, May 31, also at WUM. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 10301 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, Missouri (www.
