He was a lifelong resident of Rock Springs. Bear was born on December 16, 1951 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of Sally Gail Bowen.

He attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bear married Claudia McDaniel on November 4, 1968 in Worland, Wyoming, and they have been married for 50 years. He worked as a mechanic at Questar for over 25 years.

Bear was a member of the Rock Springs Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping, and shooting. Survivors include his wife, Claudia Sellers of Rock Springs, Wyoming, two sons; G. David Sellers of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Travis Sellers of Sheridan, Wyoming, two daughters; Rebecca Nelson and husband Scott of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Dawn Michelle of Denver, Colorado, one sister; Cindy Story and husband Jim of Rock Springs, Wyoming, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Rock Springs Christian Church, 124 2nd Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Condolences may be left at www.
