Obituary for Gary Aldridge Lakin- Gary L. Aldridge, 73, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on September 12, 1944 at Wichita the son of William Newton & Dorothy Lee (Robertson) Aldridge. He married C. Jane Hannagan on December 27, 1966 at Manhattan.

Gary moved with his family to Ashland when he was 5 years old and graduated from Ashland High School in 1962. He then served in the United States Navy. After his discharge he enrolled at Kansas State University and received his Bachelor’s in Animal Science and Business Finance.

He worked in Garden City, Colorado and Emporia as a Agriculture Loan Officer. In 1981 he moved back to Ashland to farm. In 1998 he moved to Lakin to become Branch Manager of Fidelity State Bank.

Later he was Branch Manager of Western State Bank and Plains State Bank in Lakin. He enjoyed building and collecting toy trucks. He is survived by his Wife- C. Jane Aldridge of the Home, Brother- Richard Aldridge of Corpus Christi, Texas and Sister- Sue Berryman of Cascade, Colorado.

Celebration of Life Reception will be held form 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, September 29 at the Ashland Senior Center. Graveside service will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 29 at Highland Cemetery in Ashland with Randy Fisher officiating. Military rites will be by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
