Boardman – Gary Richard West, 78, died September 11, 2018 at the Hospice House. Gary was born July 17, 1940 in Schenectady, NY, the son of John and Bertha West. Gary worked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 28 years, retiring in 1999.

He was also a member of the Boardman Civil Service Commission and for a time was a cancer volunteer and coached elementary and middle school sports. Gary was active in the United States National Guard. Some of his true passions were NASCAR as he was a car enthusiast.

He loved working in his yard, taking family day trips, and attending car shows. He also loved to watch all sports. He is survived by his wife, Jackie whom he married Dec.

28, 1963; one son, Todd (fiancé Ashley); one daughter, Julie; one brother, Wayne; cousin, Jeannie; sister in law, Judy Kemp and his beloved dog Brandy. Private services were held in Gary’s honor. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
