Gary Wayne Murphy, 57, of New Windsor, IL, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Ave. , Moline.

Cremation rites will follow visitation. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice of Galesburg. Gary was born on May 4, 1960 in Long Beach, CA, the son of Ted E. and Connie L. Dorsey Murphy.

Gary worked in construction and was an attendant at Clare-Mar Lakes Campground in Ohio. Gary was a member of the National Guard Reserve. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands.

Survivors include his mother, Connie Murphy, New Windsor, IL; daughters, Jennifer (Salvador) Arredondo, Opheim, IL, and Veronica (Justin) Daughenbaugh, Albany, IL; son, Eli Fulscher, Moline, IL; sister-in-law, Heidi (John) Carabba, Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Zach, Zoey, Jillian, and Samantha; nephew, Christopher Murphy; niece, Nattaliey Murphy; mother-in-law, Karen Herrick; sister-in-laws, Laura Herrick and Ingrid (Tim) Weaver; and nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jeffery, Barbie, Robbie, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his long-time companion of 20 years, Ruth Ann Francis; father, Ted Murphy; and two brothers, Todd and Rusty Murphy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the hospice nurses and staff at Beacon of Hope.
