Obituary for Gene Wilson Kelsay Gene Wilson Kelsay, 88, of Magnolia, died Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home. Gene was born February 2, 1930 in Bagnell, MO to the late O.E. and Nellie Bell Kelsay. He was a professor of music at Southern Arkansas University for more than 30 years and minister of music at Springhill United Methodist Church for more than 34 years.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Linda Kelsay; son, Mark D. Kelsay and wife Michelle of Copperas Cove, TX; daughter, Lindy Dyson and husband Jay of Magnolia; daughter, Leslie Starks and husband Greg of Ward, AR; son, Chris Kelsay and wife Kellie of Tyler, TX; and daughter, Lori Johnson and husband Troy of Searcy; stepchildren, daughter Barbara Staggs and husband Mike, daughter Wendy Davis and husband Rodney, son Mickey Harwell and wife April; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was blessed with loving caregivers Larry Jamerson, Tiffany and Betty during his last days. Special thanks to Encompass Hospice for the exceptional care they gave.

The family and friends will have a private celebration of life at the Kelsay’s home on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
