He was born on May 28, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas, to O.D. and Sarah (Alvey) Allen. He was a Computer Programmer and a Baptist Minister.

George married Jimmy Blair in Brownwood on December 11, 2016. He is survived by his spouse, Jimmy Blair Allen of Comanche; four children: Sarah Shipman of Idaho; John Shipman and wife Cynthia of Japan; Jershah Oosterhoff and husband Shackie of Florida; Gabby Shipman of Comanche; two stepchildren: Jamie Blair of Oklahoma and Jennifer Wilson of Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Blair and his parents, O.D. and Sarah (Alvey) Allen.
