George C. Dziurzynski, 71, longtime resident of West Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Born January 1, 1948 in Bedzin, Poland, son of the late Stanley and Gladys (Marek) Dziurzynski, George immigrated to the United States in 1964. He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Springfield, and more recently of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr.

He held positions at Bigelow Sanford, American Saw and Peerless Tool Companies. He was a proud member of the West Springfield Knights of Columbus and Pioneer Valley Sportsman Club. George had a wonderful gift of ingenuity, a love for nature and camping, enjoying music and friends, and having a good political debate.

Above all else he was his happiest at home on his deck, surrounded by his beautiful garden and the love of his family. George is survived by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Jessica (Kruzel) Dziurzynski; and his loving children, Barbara, Joanna and Alexander. He was the proud Dziadziu of his six grandchildren, Karly, Breanna, Sampson, Jaden, Ezra and Casimir.

He also leaves three siblings, Mary, Stanley and Christopher. Funeral services for George will begin Saturday at 9:30AM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday from 5-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Basilica Ministry of Care, 566 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
