Obituary for George Leonard Woollard George Leonard Woollard, 99, of Westminster and formerly of Hampstead passed away Friday November 16, 2018 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born April 28, 1919 in Maybridge, Alberta, Canada, he was the son of the late George Bernard Woollard and Mary Louise Wilson. He was the husband of the late Virginia Ellen Snyder Woolard, his wife of 69 years.

Mr. Woollard served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Prior to retirement, he had worked as a tool and die maker for Black & Decker. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Lebanon Lodge #175, A. F. & A. M. in Manchester, the Scottish Rite and the Shriners.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead. He enjoyed fishing, camping and travel. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Kenneth Swiecicki of Annapolis; daughter-in-law Deborah Woollard of Hampstead, grandchildren, Dawn Abbott, Brad Woollard and Heather Saffield; great-grandchildren Eric and Jennifer Abbott, Julia and Diana Woollard, Justin Bennett, and Stephen and Annabell Saffield; and great-great-grandson, Eric Bennett.

He was predeceased by his son, Raymond Woollard and a grandson, Eric Swiecicki. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 24 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. Chaplain Jimmie Schwartz will officiate.

Interment will be held at a later date at Wesley United Methodist Cemetery in Hampstead.
