George Giammattei, Jr. of Salisbury Center, New York died peacefully on October 4, 2018 in Albany Medical Center. He was the husband of Barbara Maher Giammattei. George was born in New Haven on February 3, 1944 to the late George Sr. and Carmel Volta Giammattei.

He was a tire builder at Armstrong Rubber Co. and loved hunting in Vermont. He was the father of Vincent and the late Robert Giammattei. Brother of Lucille Catalano, Arlene Lucibello and the late Beverly Avitable and Robert Giammattei.

Grandfather of Vincent Jr., Robert Joseph (RJ), Michael and Marina. Visiting hours will be Wednesday morning from 8-9:30am in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10am.
