John Lorenti of West Haven died peacefully on November 1, 2018 at Regal Care after fighting a valiant battle against cancer for 21 years. He was born in Bridgeport on June 17, 1952 to the late Pasquale and Rosina Bilardo Lorenti. A carpenter by trade John worked in the maintenance department for the Stratford Housing Authority.

He volunteered at Connecticut Special Olympics and was a part of the Special Olympics World games. John coached soccer, was an avid gardener, loved decorating and especially loved his family and his church. He was lovingly cared for by his life partner Anthony Laudano and was the brother of Pat, Vincent, Joseph and Anthony Lorenti and the late Linda Stober, Theresa Morgan, Frank and Michael Lorenti.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church Tuesday morning at 11am.

Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
