Obituary for Gerald “Turk” Sharp Gerald Dean “Turk” Sharp was born on October 29, 1967 in Pine Ridge, SD to Albert Sharp, Sr. and Julia (Richards) Sharp. Gerald passed away at his home in Allen, SD on October 15, 2018. Gerald graduated from Bennett County High School in 1985.
He worked for McCollam Construction from 1990-1995. He also drove the school bus for American Horse School from 2002-2011. Most of all, Gerald was a lifetime rancher.
He loved the cowboy life and lived life to the fullest. He wasn’t a man of many loving words. Everyone that knew him knew he had “no filter”.
He enjoyed the company of his family and friends at his favorite “watering hole”, the bowling alley. Many a good times we’ve had – from playing cribbage with Rich to listening to his favorite songs, to all the good conversations and laughs that were had together. He loved you all.
Gerald is survived by his life long partner and best friend, Delinda Simmons of Allen, SD; children, Jessica (Jonathan) Huber of Parmelee, SD and Layne (Cassie) Sharp of Allen, SD; brother, Roger (Karla) Sharp of Allen, SD; sisters, LaVonne McCollam of Allen, SD and Carmen (John) Cedar Face of Rapid City, SD; and grandchildren, Laura, Kaitlyn, Jakob, Paisley, Layne, Jr., Aiden, Carter and Macy. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Albert, Sr. and Julia Sharp; brothers, Robert and Albert Sharp, Jr.; and sister, Alberta Sharp. Pallbearers will be: Justin Sharp, Brad Sharp, Bo Sharp, Jonathan Huber, Rich Toczek, Mitchell DuBray, Jay Doyle, and Ben Sharp.
