Gerald Luwayne Roberts Sr. was born to Martha Ann Roberts and Cluster (Red) Barkus on January 11, 1953 in Wewoka, OK. and departed this life on July 3, 2018 in McAlester, OK. “Byrd” as he was well known attended Douglas and Wewoka high school.

: He met and married Ellen Tina Bruner in 1974 and to this union eight children were born. Preceding Gerald in death are his parents, oldest son Brad, three brothers and three sisters. He leaves to cherish his memories three sons Gerald Luwayne Jr., Gregory Ladon and Gary Lonell; four daughters Laquita Michele, (Leroy), Latonya Marchetta (Eric), Lapernie Maria (Derryl) and LeEtta Marquisha (Dequeadron) : fifteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; one sister Debra Bert; four brothers Steven Sandridge, Leon Jackson, Oliver Barkus, and Bobbie Barkus; one aunt Curley Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 13, 2018 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel and burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery.
