Obituary for Gerald Marchand Gerald W. Marchand, 73, of Irwin passed away Tuesday June 12, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1945, in Greensburg a son of the late Francis and Jane (McElroy) Marchand. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Teacher for the Norwin School District for 35 years.

He was a member of the Italian Miners Society and the Irwin American Legion. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Chuck and Dick Marchand. Surviving are his wife Linda I. (Nedley) Marchand; two sons Jeffrey Marchand, of Penn Twp, and Michael Marchand, of Irwin; a sister Joan Vernail, of North Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews.

Gerald loved fishing and hunting with his sons. As per Gerald’s request there will be no public viewing or visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Ott Funeral Home, Inc. Family requests that donations be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626.
