Geraldine Pressley March 28, 1948 – December 20, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Geraldine Reames Pressley was the first of nine children born to the late Toney Reames, Sr. and Bernice Monroe Reames on March 28, 1948 in Lee County, SC. She was a part of a strong circle of love and unity called family. She grew up serving God at New Zion AME Church in Wysacky, SC.

She later joined Trinity Presbyterian Church in Mayesville, SC: serving faithfully as a Deacon, on the gospel choir and as an Usher until her health failed. Geraldine was educated in the public schools of Lee County, becoming a 1966 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She also attended Voorhees College in Denmark, SC.

After leaving Voorhees, she then returned home to become a secretary at her beloved alma mater, Mount Pleasant High. She was employed at Pilgrim’s Pride, formerly Campbell Soup, until she retired. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Order #355.

On March 15, 1969, she was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Prince Pressley, Sr They shared 49 years, 9 months, and 5 days of joy and happiness. On Wednesday, December 20, 2018, God looked down and plucked a beautiful flower from his Garden, Sister Geraldine Reames Pressley.

In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Prince (Latricia) Pressley, Jr. of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Edith Pressley-Knorwannah of Lawrenceville, GA and Mary (Christopher) Barfield of Alcolu, SC; eleven grandchildren: Alicia and Alphonsus Knorwannah, Jasmine and Christopher D. Barfield, Jarius and Kyliegh Pressley, Maurice, Lawrence, Vanessa, and Amber Hollimon; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eddie (Vanessa) Reames of Coolidge, AZ and Toney Reames, Jr. of Bishopville, SC; three sister: Delores Murry of Oakley, CA, Janette (Wilbur) Charles and Virginia Reames both of Bishopville, SC; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; two aunts; three uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Parnell and Odell Reames; one sister, Dorothy Johnson; and one step-daughter, Zelia Edela Hollimon. Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job’s Mortuary.

Mrs. Pressley will be placed in the church on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Trinity Presbyterian Church (USA) 136 S. Main Street Mayesville, SC 29104, with Elder Othan Franklin, Pastor, Officiating, and Rev. Carnell Hampton, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Mayesville Community Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the home, 990 Lesane Pressley Lane Lynchburg, SC 29080.
