Lavergne January 05, 1928 – January 11, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Gertie F. Lavergne, age 91, the former Gertie Falcon, who passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. Fr.

Mark Ledoux, Pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mrs. Lavergne was a native of Rayne and a resident of Lafayette where she was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Ricky Lavergne and his wife, Lisa, of Scott; two daughters, Harriet Delahoussaye and her husband, Mark, of Youngsville and Lisa L. Giandelone and her husband, Joey, of Broussard; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Eugene Edward Lavergne; one son, Brad Lavergne; one daughter, Dean Conques; one grandson, Brian Lavergne; her parents, Ulysses Falcon and the former Odile Trahan both natives of Rayne; three brothers, Francis Falcon, Willie Falcon and Anthony Falcon; and two sisters, Helen F. Guillot and Solange Falcon. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Ted Savoy, Cedric Lavergne, Derrik Lavergne, Miles Delahoussaye, Garrett Breaux and Avery Savoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt Louviere, Joey Giandelone, Ricky Lavergne and Mark Delahoussaye. Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave.
