Gertrude Davis Motley August 30, 1948 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gertrude Davis Motley, 70, of 123 Kennon Dr., Danville, VA passed away, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her residence. Born August 30, 1948 in Chatham, VA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Preacher Davis and Katherine Jones Davis. She was married to Rayfield Motley, who survives.

In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include one daughter, Chandra Davis, of Danville, VA; three sons, Pierre Davis and Jermaine Motley both of Danville, VA and Sean Goddard, Sr of Hyanis, MS; five sisters, Jerelene Esaw of Norwalk, CT, Nellie West, Cassandra Callands and Elizabeth Davis all of Chatham, VA and Glenda Townes (Sammy) of Danville, VA; four brothers, Walter Davis, Jr (JoAnn), Jim Davis and Leslie Davis all of Chatham, VA and Steve Davis (Veronica) of Columbia Heights, VA; five grandchildren , two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one grandson, two sisters, Gladys Polke and Katie Morrison and one brother, Larry Davis. Family will receive friends at the residence.

Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced once complete. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Motley family.
