Nancy Ann Hughes, 79, of 1325 Little Creek Road, Ringgold, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2019 in the Hock Family Pavilion, in Durham, NC after being in declining health for the past several years. Nancy was born in Danville, VA on August 17, 1939 a daughter of the late Irvin D. Haraway and Larice B. Haraway. She had lived all of her life in Pittsylvania County and Ringgold, VA.

Nancy had retired from Dan River Mills, Inc. where she worked in Supervision. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church but she attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was active with First Pentecostal Lunch Bunch as long as health permitted. Nancy was a member of the Dan River Retiree’s where she was former treasurer and she was active with a local volunteer group who visited Roman Eagle Memorial Home to provide musical entertainment.

Nancy was married to the late Linwood Thomas Barker who predeceased her on November17, 1991, and later she remarried the late Barney Hughes. Nancy is survived by one son, Michael T. Barker, (Phyllis), two daughters, Dianne B. Hastings, (John), and Teresa Gay Lassiter, (Gene), one sister, Sally H. Payne, (Sammy), seven grandchildren, Beverly Gail Barker, Amy Elizabeth Grafton, Susan Ann Gauldin, Bradford Thomas Hastings, Mary Elizabeth Hastings, Elizabeth Ann Lassiter & Brian Michael Lassiter, nine great-grandchildren, Hannah, Erica, Abigail, Reese, Emily, Ethan, Olivia, Brady & Campbell. She was predeceased by one great-grandchild, Benjamin Layton Grafton, Jr. A Funeral Service for Nancy will be conducted on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 a 1:00 p.m. in Highland Burial Park by the Reverend Myron Bruce.

The family will receive friends at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and other times they will be at the residence, 1325 Little Creek Road, Ringgold, VA 24586. The Family suggest that memorial donations may be made to the Wesley Chapel Benevolent Fund, c/o of Mrs. Carmen Rice, 1489 Twin Arch Drive, Danville, VA 24540. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Hughes family.
