Obituary for Roy Hammock, Jr. Roy Stewart Hammock, Jr., 70, of Danville, VA went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville, NC after being in declining health for the last several months. Mr. Hammock was born in Danville, VA on December 29, 1948, son of the late Roy Stewart Hammock, Sr., and Ruby Jean Oakes Hammock. He spent all of his life in the Danville area where he was the project manager in the heating and air industry.

He was known for his love of woodworking and fishing. Survivors include, daughter, Christle Ricketts and husband Keith Wayne of Dry Fork, VA; son, Wade Walton, Jr. and wife Pamela of Milton, NC; their mother, Margaret Hammock of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Haley Grace Ricketts, Keith “Daniel” Ricketts, Cody Walton and Kaytlynn Walton. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson, Zakary Walton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Michael Kent officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
