Nancy Carolyn Irby, 76, of 909 Mount Herman Circle, Danville, VA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Sovah Health of Danville. Mrs. Irby was born in Danville, VA, on June 29, 1942, a daughter of the late Averett D. Lewis and the late Clericsa Smith Lewis. She lived most of her life in the Danville and Mount Hermon Community where she graduated from Stratford College.

She was a lifetime member of Mount Herman Baptist Church. She was married to Leo Irby, who predeceased her. She is survived by two nieces, Sally Murray and husband Bill, of Danville, VA, and Lois Newton and husband Jimmy, of Ringgold, VA; and four nephews, H.C. Davis and wife Robin, of Midlothian, VA, Ashley Lewis and wife Kate Alexandria, Michael Lewis and wife Suzann, of Winchester, VA, and Taylor Lewis and wife Katie, of Alexandria, VA In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Christopher Robin Doss; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mount Herman Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Chromy and the Rev. David Smith officiating.
