Evelyn Farmer Hooper Walker, 103, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2019 at Roxboro Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after several years of declining health. Evelyn was a native of Caswell County born in Blanch, N.C. on August 12, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Georgianna Hodges Farmer and John Edward Farmer.

Evelyn spent her life in Caswell and Person County, N.C. She was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and Appalachian State University. She taught in the Caswell County School System for 30 years.

She was a former member of Friends of the Library and Roxboro Garden Club. Evelyn was the oldest member of Roxboro Baptist Church. Evelyn was the wife of Hubert Hooper and J. C. Walker who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons; Mickey Hooper ( Carol) of Mebane, Jerry Hooper (Nancy) of Burlington, Lynn Hooper (Anita) of Burlington and a daughter Sharon Yarbrough (Jerry) of Prospect Hill. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Carole Sorrells of Asheville, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, and 4 great step-grandchildren. In additions to her husbands and parents, she was predeceased by five siblings; Lyston Farmer, Pauline Clayton, Alease Hibben, Ruby Jones and Louise Jones.

A Memorial Service will be conducted by Reverend Barry Lane on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Christian Church, 595 Baynes Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall after the service. Memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church Cemetery Fund, in C/O of Mickey Hooper, 244 Hooper Road, Mebane, N.C. 27302.
