Born December 3, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Carter and Mary Henry Inge Carter.

She was married to the late Charlie William Martin. Dorothy Jean Martin was the last of her generation. Her survivors include one daughter, Kim Witcher (Laron) of Danville, VA and one grandson Lathan Witcher of Danville, VA.

Family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Kim Witcher at 841 Poplar Trace, Danville, VA. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced once completed. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Martin Family.
