Robert Lee Brumfield, Sr., 88, of 945 East High Tower Rd, Sutherlin, VA went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2019 at his residence after being in declining health for the past two years. Mr. Brumfield was born on Nov.

17, 1930 son of the late Albert Clyde Brumfield and Mamie Leigh Brumfield. He spent all of his life in the Pittsylvania County area where he retired from Goodyear after 20 years of service. He was attended Westover Baptist Church.

He was known for his love of the outdoors, cows, and he was an avid rabbit hunter. On Nov. 16, 1950, he married Mary Anderson Tate Brumfield who survives of the residence.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Brumfield is survived by daughter, Joan Walker (Donnie) of Sutherlin, VA; sons, Kenny Brumfield of Axton, VA, Raymond Brumfield (Marcie) of Rougemont, NC and Robert Brumfield, Jr. (Tiny) of Dry Fork, VA; sisters, Effie David (Nelson) of Dry Fork, VA and Faye Reed of Rocky Mount, VA; brother, Larry Brumfield of Spring Garden, VA; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Reverend Doug Barber and the Reverend Robert Vermillion officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence, 945 East High Tower Rd, Sutherlin, VA 24594. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Brumfield family.
