P.J. (Paula Jo) Walker passed away on Friday, Feb 22 at her home. She was the eldest daughter of the late Herman P. Walker and Lillie Marie Wright Walker Hundley. She was a lifelong resident of Danville and Pittsylvania County and always said that she did not want to reside anywhere else.

She graduated from Tunstall High School and joined the United States Army. After her stint in the Army, she returned to the area and never left. Before her injury which required the permanent use of a wheelchair, she enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing and camping.

She leaves behind her two sisters- Cathy E. Carter and Rhonda P. Walker, both of Pittsylvania County, one niece-Melissa (Thomas), two great nieces- Myra (Justin) and Ayla and one great nephew-Jacob, a step-father-Frank Hundley, aunts, uncles, cousins and many lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Katherine Blair officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and at other times will be at her sister, Rhonda Walker’s residence, 612 River Ridge Road, Danville, VA, 24541.

A private interment in Danville Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Bachelors Hall Volunteer Fire Department in her name. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Walker family.
