Born April 24, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Willie Green Inge and Ida Smith Inge.

Survivors include six sisters, Drucilla Inge, Ola Wimbush (John), Dorothy Ellerbee (Butch) all of Danville, Zonna Inge of Martinsville, VA, Ruby Abrams (Stanley) and Ruth Benson (David) both of Richmond, VA; four brothers, Walter Inge (Phyllis), Larry Inge (Ronetta), Carl Inge all of Danville, VA and Condrie Inge (Sherdean) of Providence, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by four brothers, Willie Inge, Jr., Charlie Inge, Sr., Thomas Inge and Rodger Inge. The family will receive friends at the residence.
