Born December 14, 1937 in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of the late George Berkley Wilson and Maudenia James Wilson. She was married to Charlie Clyde Bethel, who survives.

Survivors include one daughter, April Michelle Bethel of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Colleen Palmer (Ernest) of Danville, VA; one brother, James Wilson (Edith) and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by twelve siblings, Georgiana Wilson, Irene Byrd, Frances Howard, Amanda Russell, Cora Lee Coble, Raleigh Wilson, Curtis Wilson, Paul Wilson, Douglas Wilson, Aubrey Wilson, Clarence Wilson and Willie Wilson. The family will receive friends at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 2 PM from Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Thurman Echols, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 6-8 PM. Visitation will be held from 4-8 from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Bethel family.
